Tuition costs for the RVCC are broken down into monthly payments throughout the two semesters (Aug-Dec and Jan-April). The cost comes out to be LESS than what you would pay for individual weekly music lessons, with so many additional benefits that you won’t experience anywhere else! If your child loves to sing or wants to learn more about music, the RVCC is the right place to join!

Singing in a children’s choir provides unending opportunities for children to learn and grow musically, academically, and socially. We are growing leaders! Young people with a strong sense of character and confidence! The Chorus America Study published several years ago reported that children who sing in choirs growing up develop advanced skills in Teamwork, Leadership, Creativity, Math, Language, Memory, Social Skills, and Perseverance. How Does Singing in A Children’s Choir make a difference in a child’s life? Watch the video below to see how.

It’s not just about singing. It’s about being part of something bigger than yourself. Be a PART of the music and find the joy of singing to last a lifetime.

COVID-19

The RVCC has adapted and will continue to adapt to the ever-changing situation with the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Spring and Fall of 2020, the RVCC adapted by having virtual and outdoor rehearsals, and creating virtual concerts on Youtube. We are very proud of our singers keeping the music alive in their hearts, sharing their beautiful singing, and being a shining light of hope and inspiration for the whole world to see.

Spring 2022 Semester Updates:

In January 2022 we resumed rehearsing indoors at our RVCC rehearsal home, Bethel Baptist Church. Our 2022 Spring Concert is planned to be held at the Jefferson Center in April 2022. We are also planning the ABB+ trip to Williamsburg Choral Festival for Spring 2022, as well as a C Choir Trip to Carnegie Hall for Summer 2022! We will continue to consult our medical advisory team in all our upcoming choir plans. We are excited to be able to transition more and more back to our “normal” choir program!

Quotes from our graduating Senior RVCC Choristers:

“The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir is a family in every sense of the word – it doesn’t matter where you’re from or who you are; when you’re at choir - you are home.”

“One of the most important skills that I have learned from being in the Children’s Choir for 10 years is the ability to be motivated and determined to be the best that I can be, not only in choir, but in all of life."

A Little Bit About the RVCC:

Founded in 1987 by Kimberly Ruse Davidson, the Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir has grown to be a highly respected arts organization in the Roanoke Valley, in the state of Virginia, and beyond. The choir includes 200 children from 65 different schools throughout the Roanoke Valley and surrounding communities. The choristers, ages 7-18, are divided into three Training Choirs and a Concert Choir. The RVCC provides an artistic and in depth study of the voice in a choral setting for every child. We strive to teach young musicians of the Roanoke Valley how to work together and pursue excellence - in singing, in music, and in everyday life. Our mission as a choir to provide the best choral experience for our choristers and spread the joy of music to everyone we can!
