About The Fundraiser:

Raising Money for the RVCC Musical Sparks Scholarship Fund

The RVCC is looking for new and creative ways to raise money as we grow back our chorister enrollment. We’re going to be having several fundraisers throughout the year!  All money raised during this fundraising campaign (from both teams) will go directly towards our new Musical Sparks Scholarship Program for the 2023-2024 School Year.

The Musical Sparks Scholarship Program within the RVCC is going to partner with local schools and music teachers to help find students with a spark and passion for music. These selected students will be given a $200 scholarship for the RVCC to help nurture, grow, explore, and further develop their love for singing as a member of the choir. We believe that this experience can be truly transformative in a young person’s life. These scholarships are open to all ages of singers in rising 2nd-12th grade.

A $200 donation to either team provides a scholarship for one new student!

Matching Employer Donations

Check if your employer supports matching gifts. After donating to the RVCC, you can go through the process of submitting a matching gift request to your employer. In some instances, you can donate to the RVCC directly through your employer, and apply the employer’s matching gift when doing so. Search your employer’s policy and find an employer’s matching donation form using the search box below.

THE ROANOKE VALLEY CHILDREN’S CHOIR IS A 501 (C) (3) NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. ALl Donations are Tax Deductable.

Help us continue to share music with children in our community and around the world! Your donation to the RVCC helps our program stay strong and can help to change a child’s life through music, teamwork, and friendships.

We believe that we are teaching so much more than just music! We are growing young leaders in our community, building character, and teaching life skills that can truly make a difference in each and every child. Our mission is to reach as many young singers as possible and spread the joy of music throughout our community. We need your help!

As our program expands to reach more children, there is a growing and immediate need for scholarship funds to allow more children to join the RVCC and continue to sing with us.

Thank you for your support and for being part of the RVCC Family!

Fundraising Goal to Increase Scholarships for Singers

If we are successful in fundraising towards our goal, the legacy of the Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir has a chance to continue to inspire children through many generations to come. With increased funding from donations, we would be able to offer SO many more students tuition scholarships next year. We could consider leaning away from being a tuition-dependent organization. With shifting our focus towards larger fundraising income, it would be possible to lower tuition costs, have up to 50% of students on scholarship, and increase both the accessibility and diversity of the RVCC program so more children from all backgrounds could benefit from singing in the choir. This has the potential to solve both our enrollment and financial problems at the same time.

Additional Large Donor Needed

Do you have any leads for a source that could potentially make a sizable donation of $10,000, $20,000, or $50,000 to the Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir with the goal of establishing a new scholarship foundation within our program starting next year? Securing a large, one-time donation for this extra funding would allow us to get AHEAD of our fundraising needs and secure a more financially stable future for the RVCC. This would also allow us to offer tuition scholarships to a large percentage of our choristers and enable more children to sing in the choir! Please contact RVCC Director, Kim Davidson (kimdavidson@childrenschoir.com), right away if you have any ideas that could help us secure this significant extra funding from a personal donor, corporate sponsor, or grant.

For large donations, it works well to process them via check or online through the “Paypal Giving Fund”, as there are no fees associated with it: paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/1272720
