Choir Rehearsals for the 2026-2027 start in the Fall on Monday, September 14th, 2026.

To register for the choir, you can create an account on Active Network, fill out the registration forms, and set up your tuition payments using the button below. The first month’s tuition payment is due when you register.

Which Choir Do I Register For?

*grades listed are for the 2026-2027 school year

• Rising 1st-2nd Graders = “A Choir” Early Elementary Choir Program (no auditions needed)

• Rising 3rd-5th Graders = “B Choir” Upper Elementary Choir Program (no auditions needed)

  -> If you are in B Choir and will be in 5th grade next year, you can choose to either stay in B Choir OR move up to the B+ Choir. 

• Rising 5th-9th Graders = “B+ Choir” Youth Choir Program (no auditions needed)

• Auditioned 8th-12th Graders = Concert Choir Program (auditions are required for new members)

-> Note: Registration for the Advanced Concert Choir is for returning choristers or new singers who have been accepted through an audition.

  Registration Instructions:

  To register for the choir, you can create an account on Active Network, fill out the registration forms, and set up your tuition payments using the button below.

• The full choir year spans 8 months, broken down into two semester: Sept.-Dec. and Jan-April.

• Tuition can be paid as monthly payments, or paid up front for the full semester.

• The first month’s tuition payment is due when you register.

• Monthly Tuition Payment Plan: Select the “enroll in payment plan” option during the last page of checkout on Active Network to set up the automatic monthly tuition payments. The remaining tuition balance will be divided into 3 equal monthly payment made on the 5th of the month from September 5th, 2026 - March 5th, 2027.

** If you have more than one child in the RVCC, we offer a $20 discount per child for any child AFTER the first child.  The first child pays the full price.

Scholarships, Reduced Tuition, & Financial Aid

Reduced Tuition

Reduced Tuition of 15% off the semester tuition price is offered to any families with a household income of less than $60,000 or anyone who may need the financial assistance. This is on the honor system to use this coupon code, if needed for your family. There is a limit of 10 codes available to use on a first come, first serve basis.

Financial Aid Scholarships

Full and Partial Financial Aid Scholarships are available to new and returning students on a needs basis. These scholarships can help cover tuition payments, as well as help cover the cost of the formal costume or special choir trips. Please indicate how much financial assistance you need on the application. A upload of your most recent tax return document is required. If you are applying for a financial aid scholarship, you do not need to register until AFTER you hear back from the scholarship committee.

Scholarsrhip Applications are due by May 20th, 2026.

Dates and Rehearsal Times

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir is a full-year 8 month choral program for youth ages 6-18. We have two annual concerts in December and April with different music learned over two semesters. However, the skills taught throughout the year are built upon each other and it is recommended to commit to the entire year of singing in the RVCC to receive the most benefits from the full program.

Semesters are September 14th - December 19th, 2026 & January 11th - April 23th, 2027.

Rehearsals are once a week on Mondays at Bethel Baptist Church in Salem, VA.

• “A Choir” Elementary Choir** (1st-2nd Grade) = Mondays 4:30-5:30 PM

• “B Choir” Elementary Choir** (3rd-5th Grade) = Mondays 4:30-6:00 PM

• “B+ Youth Choir** (5th-9th Grade) = Mondays 5:30-7:00 PM

• Concert Choir (Advanced Auditioned Choir) = Mondays 7:00-9:00 PM

** There is no audition required for grades 1st-9th to join the Elementary or Youth Choirs. If you are ready to join, you can go ahead and register!

The RVCC is a non-profit funded by 50% donations and 50% tuition income. Your tuition pays for the following operating expenses to run the choir program.

Included in RVCC Tuition:

• Choral music provided in your music binder

• 40-50 hours of vocal training instruction provided through in person rehearsals

• Annual Concerts and Performances throughout the year

• Professional Instrumentalists

• Rehearsal Space

• 2 Full Time Staff Salaries (Artistic Director and Operations Manager)

• 3 Part time Staff Salaries (Piano Accompanist, Treasurer, and Music Librarian)
