“A Little Spring Music”

Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Shaftman Performance Hall at the Jefferson Center, Roanoke VA

  •  1:30 PM -  Full Concert (including Awards and Senior Recognition). This is the traditional RVCC Spring Concert including all of the prepared songs performed by all four choirs and the Sibling Choir. Awards and Special Senior Recognition honoring our seniors and their parents is also included in this concert. The concert length of this Concert is approximately 2’ 30”. All Choir families should plan to attend the 1:30 concert. Attend both concerts to support your chorister, if you can!

  • 4:30 PM  - An abbreviated concert not including Awards. Approximately 1 hour in length.

About the Choir and Concert

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir, under the direction of Kimberly Ruse Davidson, will be presenting their 32nd Annual Spring Concert, “A Little Spring Music” on Sunday, April 7, 2019 with concerts at 1:30 and 4:30 at Shaftman Hall, The Jefferson Center. Musical selections will include classical, folk, gospel, Broadway and patriotic.

The Concert finale will include all 250 choristers singing selections from “Once On This Island” choreographed by Kevin Jones. Both concerts will close with a patriotic salute that includes band members from Salem High School.

The Roanoke Valley Children’s Choir offers an in depth program of 3 training choirs and a concert choir with a total of 250 children ages 7-18. Mrs. Pattie Clevenger directs the youngest Training Choir accompanied by Mrs. Carla Crouse. Ms. Davidson directs the remaining 3 choirs accompanied by Mrs. Carla Crouse for the Training Choirs and Mr. Taylor Baldwin for the Concert Choir

Recent featured performances for the RVCC Concert Choir include the 2008 and 2014 Southern Division American Choral Director Conventions, the ACDA National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2015, a solo performance at Carnegie Hall in 2016, and solo and festival performances in Canterbury Cathedral in 2017.
